REGISTRATION:

When is registration?

Registration opens to everyone Friday, March 20 through Thursday, April 30. Late registration will run from May 1 until June 6.

How much is registration?

Regular Registration is $180 per swimmer. Late registration is $200 per swimmer.  There are no refunds available after June 1, 2026. Registration includes a team t-shirt.

SUMMER SWIM SCHEDULE:

The summer season starts May 27 at our first practice and concludes July 25 at the ODSL All Star Meet. We do take a league-wide break around the Fourth of July holiday.

PRACTICES:

Practices are broken down by age groups and swim levels. Please see the "Practices" tab for more information.

Do parents have to attend practices?

Per our HOA bylaws, all swimmers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or someone over the age of 18. If your swimmer is under the age of 13, someone must be at practice to be responsible for that swimmer.

Do you have to attend all the practices?

No. While we encourage swimmers to attend as many practices as they can, we understand that summers are filled with family vacations, camps, and other commitments. We do not take attendance at any practices.

What equipment do I need for practice?

Please bring goggles, a towel, and a water bottle. We also encourage swimmers to bring their own fins as we only have a few team fins available. Swimwear is required, but there is no mandatory practice suit.

Can family members use the pool during practices?

During morning practices the pool is closed to anyone except those practicing. The baby pool and the beach are are NOT open. Swimmers are allowed to practice during their specific practice time and then must exit the pool.  Family members may use the pool if it is open during evening practices.

What if practice is cancelled?

Summer usually means thunderstorms. If a practice is cancelled for any reason, we will send out notifications through our website and Facebook. Please pay close attention, sometimes the weather changes quickly and practice might be cancelled with little notice depending on weather and other circumstances. We try our best to keep you informed and make the call as early as we can.

MEETS:

Meets: Meets are Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. They can be either home (our pool) or away (another ODSL pool).

What is required for meets?

You must have a team swimsuit or other (team) approved swimwear. You should have goggles, and an extra pair is recommended in case 1 breaks.  Each swimmers should bring 2 towels, team swim cap or other approved cap, plus plenty of water and snacks. Extra sweatshirts or blankets for early morning meets are highly recommended. Parents should bring a chair for seating.

Are team suits required?

No, we do not require team suits, but HIGHLY encourage them. We offer a couple of options at different price points. It's great for team spirit and makes it easier to keep track of our swimmers during meets. If you chose an alternate suit it must be USA swimming and team approved. Swimmers cannot wear tie-back suits, two piece suits, or tech suits. We understand that some may choose an alternate suit for modesty, religious, or other reasons and these are perfectly acceptable options. If you have questions about suits please email Tina Johnson directly.

Are (team) swim caps required?

Swimmers are not required to wear swim caps for meets though it's recommended especially for longer hair. We do not require team swim caps, but HIGHLY encourage them. Alternatively, swimmers can wear plain black or blue caps, no caps with OTHER team logos are allowed. If you have questions about caps please email Tina Johnson directly.

Where can I purchase a team suit and team cap?

Visit our team store to purchase a team suit and team cap.

Who signs a swimmer up for meets?

Parents sign their swimmers up for meets. You should go into each meet and declare if your swimmer is participating or not.

VOLUNTEERING:

Our swim team requires volunteer hours from each family. There are over 30 jobs to fill at any given swim meet, and we cannot run these meets without the help of all our families, and we appreciate each and every one of you! Volunteer requirements will be based on a point system. Each job will be assigned a point value. Each family will be required to earn a specific number of points per season. This number will be determined after registration and before the season begins. If you do not meet this requirement your family will be charged for points not earned. Volunteer jobs will be announced once we have swim meets scheduled. If you have any questions please let us know.

Can I watch my swimmer while volunteering?

Yes, we don't want anyone to miss their swimmer's events! If you are in a volunteer job, such as the concession booth, you can step away to watch your swimmer's events.
